The lymphatic system is a vast body network that includes organs, nodes and vessels. Its importance arises from its function to assist the immune system to protect from infection and ward off disease. It mirrors the body’s blood vessel network and if laid out end to end, lymphatic vessels would be 100,000 miles long.

The lymphatic system maintains healthy fluid balance, brings immune supporting nutrients to body tissues and removes metabolic debris and toxins from tissues via lymph fluid. Metabolic debris and toxins are transported further to organs that eliminate them from the body. When the lymphatic system is blocked from performing properly, swelling ensues bringing danger of infection and compromised immune function.
