Although we have received nothing but praise for the effectiveness of our lymphatic drainage products, we have taken the essential oil blend a step further to make the products even better! We exchanged ravensara essential oil for lemon myrtle essential oil. Both fight skin infections that may arise from stagnant swelling. However, lemon myrtle is a better fit for our purposes. An additional plus is that lemon myrtle has a nice lemony scent adding to the overall fragrance of the formula. This is due to the compound citral in lemon myrtle which gives it its antimicrobial property of destroying bacteria and healing infection.
In spite of the lemony scent, lemon myrtle is not citrus and will not cause phototoxicity when treated skin is exposed to direct sunlight as most citrus essential oils do. As for grapefruit essential oil causing phototoxicity, we use grapefruit essential oil that is processed through steam distillation which removes
the element that causes phototoxicity So we have covered our bases to bring you the best lymphatic drainage experience possible.
